Our Research:
Researchers in Dr. Guo's group work in the area of nanostructure plasmon photonics and metamaterials. The major thrust of the research activities is to explore new metal-dielectric-semiconductor plasmonic nanostructures to engineer and control plasmon-polaritons in the mesoscopic nanoscale, a scale between the atomic scale and the diffraction limit of light. Current research interests are:
- Gap plasmon resonance perfect light absorbers
- Perfect light trapping in metal surface nanotrench cavities
- Super-period plasmonic nanostructure gratings and integrated plasmon enhanced spectrometry and sensing
- Metamaterials for solar energy harvesting and anti-reflection coatings
- Ultra-thin film Si-metal optics for color filters
- Localized surface plasmon resonance biosensor
